Development and demonstration of solutions to better integrate inland waterway transport into multimodal logistics chains through digitalisation and smart shipping technologies, with focus on cross-border applications and operational efficiency.

Proposals should focus on integration of smart vessels, smart infrastructure, smart data and smart governance in multimodal logistics chains. Projects should build on previous Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe and CEF funded projects to develop technical and operational solutions, define IWT-related aspects of common framework for multi-modal data sharing, and conduct at least four demonstration pilots in actual operational environments (minimum TRL 7).
